From the Chester Lions Swim Team
The
Chester Swimming Pool Proposal has our wholehearted support. Obviously, a
pool is the lifeblood of who we are as an organization.
The
Chester Lions Swim team has fostered physical fitness, family values and
champion swimmers for well over 30 years! Our team is open to all children
ages 4 to 18. Our summer program is not affiliated with the school system.
Team members practice rigorously each week and compete at federation
qualifying pools in neighboring communities on the weekends. This is a
wholesome family experience that unites two popular recreational
activities; swimming and camping.
The
camaraderie among swimmers is phenomenal. Competition is amicable. There
is nothing like seeing older swimmers cheer on the younger apprehensive
swimmers. Imagine being scared to death and having that fear wash away as
a senior swimmer, coach or even a parent jumps in your lane and swims with
you to the finish. That's a self-esteem builder!
Please
support the efforts of the HLP&RF in securing funds for a new
community pool in Chester. The Chester Lions Swim Team will be forever
grateful.
